If you love to shop then you're going to love Barcelona!

Barcelona offers 1000's of shops. The city is home to the famous 5 KM shopping line. The shopping line starts at the top of the Ramblas, through Placa de Catalunya along Passeig de Gràcia and up Avenue Diagonal. Most of the shopping line is pedestriansed making it a pleasant experience to wonder from shop to shop with no need to  worry about traffic.

Along the Barcelona shopping line you'll find a huge selection of shops including many of the big designer names like Versace, Giorgio Armani, Burberry, Bally, Cartier and Calvin Klein to name but a few.

You'll also find many high quality Spanish designer shops a sumptuous array of clothes, shoes, jewellery, apparel and accessories with chic European style. It s real treat for shopoholics. 

Shopping Times
Shops normally open at about 10:00 am and close around 8:30 pm, Monday-Saturday. Small shops still have a siesta in the afternoon from about 2:00 pm until 4:30 pm. All trades are allowed to open on 11 Sundays per year. Nevertheless most of the shops on Las Ramblas are opened throughout the week, seven days long.


Department Stores
Barcelona's two main  department stores are in the centre of Barcelona  they are El Corte Ingles and Fnac. Here you'll find just about anything you want under one roof.  Also El Triangle (Placa de Catalunya) houses a branch of FNAC and a collection of other stores.

If you like shopping emporia, the Centre Comercial de les Glories, by the huge roundabout and metro stop may be perfect for you. It si situated  the grounds of the original Hispano Olivetti factory, and is also home to a range of bars and restaurants to take your mind off shopping for a while.

La Roca Village - Brand name shopping at discounted prices 
La Roca village is a small Catalan town just outside of Barcelona. There are around 50 stores selling brand named international labels at discount prices most of the year around. To find out how to get there from Barcelona center visit this web site.

Circuit del Born
Hidden away in Ciutat Vella’s Ribera district, is one of Barcelona's less famous shopping gems. This  area is centered around the historic Mercat del Born and is full of small jewellery shops, speciality silk boutiques, as well as  designer shoe and clothing stores. Also, for those interested in purchasing art, Carrer Montcada offers some hip art galleries,  and craft shops which are situated amongst the district’s famous museums. 

A more central shopping centre, El Triangle (Placa de Catalunya) houses a branch of FNAC and a collection of other stores, including Habitat.

TomBus - Shopping Bus service
If you're really serious about shopping in Barcelona then you may wish to use the TOMBUS - (Barcelona Shopping Bus) a special bus service which runs up and down the 5 Km shopping line all day long.
The TOMBUS leaves from Placa de Catalunya and journey's up the shopping line assisting serious shopperholics on their journey .
